Founded in 1937, Ducks Unlimited is the largest nonprofit waterfowl and wetlands conservation organization in the world. In its more than 85-year history, the group has conserved over 6.9 million acres of land in the United States, over 6.5 million acres in Canada, and over 1.9 million acres in Mexico. It has also influenced, through partnerships with government agencies and other private organizations, an additional 228 million acres in North America.

In 2022, Ducks Unlimited protected and restored over 575,000 acres of wetlands and wildlife habitat in the United States. One of these areas was the Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge, located on the California and Oregon border.

The Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge is a critical habitat for millions of birds during migration. Unfortunately, drought has negatively impacted the refuge’s wetlands. Ducks Unlimited, alongside the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Klamath Drainage District, and local landowners, constructed a pump station to support the flow of water to the Klamath Basin wetlands. The water will restore the wetlands, benefiting migratory birds and local wildlife.
